Paul Allen changed the world. We salute and honor his life.
Paul G. Allen was a financial specialist and altruist. He made and propelled world-class undertakings and high-affect activities that changed and enhanced the manner in which individuals live, learn, work, and experience the world through expressions, instruction, excitement, sports, business, and innovation. He helped to establish Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975 and remained the organization's main technologist until the point that he cleared out Microsoft in 1983. Allen established Vulcan Inc. in 1986 and the Experience Music Project, now the Museum of Pop Culture, in 2000.
With lifetime giving of about $1 billion, Allen was named one of the best donors in America. Allen offered back to the network through the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, committed to changing the direction of individuals' lives and reinforcing networks through reactant charity. In 2003, Allen contributed $100 million to make the Allen Institute for Brain Science. The Seattle-based Institute is an autonomous, charitable medicinal research association devoted to quickening the comprehension of how the mind functions.
Paul Allen was a supporter and companion of CHM. We recollect Paul and his last visit to the Museum, where he joined Jose Antonio Vargas for a discussion about his book and diary, Idea Man.
